VITA PRO System: A Wireless Monitoring
Most wireless monitoring systems perform well in a demo room. The VITA PRO System performs well on the floor of a busy studio, on location with a camera 400 metres from video village, and in the dense RF environments that come with any large production. That distinction matters when the alternative to a stable wireless link is a monitor with no picture.
The VITA PRO is the top of the VITA monitoring range for clear reasons. It covers more distance than the Vita Lite, it holds that link more reliably in challenging environments through its enhanced multi-antenna reception, and it gives the receiving end more output options. When the production asks more of a wireless monitoring system than a standard setup provides, this is the unit that answers.
How the VITA PRO System works
The transmitter mounts on or near the camera and takes an HD-SDI feed with a loop-through output, keeping the on-camera monitor connected. It also accepts HDMI. Camera metadata - focus distance, iris value, timecode - travels alongside the video signal, and record-trigger support means a remote operator can start and stop recording without touching the camera body.
Transmission happens on 5.1 to 5.9 GHz using advanced OFDM RF technology at 23 dBm transmit power with 40 MHz bandwidth. Latency sits under 1 millisecond from camera output to monitor display. In practical terms, this means a focus puller watching a 105 mm lens wide open can trust that the image on their monitor is what the camera is capturing at that exact moment - not 40 or 60 milliseconds ago.
The receiver features enhanced multi-antenna reception. This is more than a specification detail. When a camera moves across a large set, the angle and distance between transmitter and receiver changes constantly. Multiple receive antennas allow the receiver to maintain the strongest available signal path as the camera moves, rather than depending on a single fixed antenna that may fall into a null or be blocked by obstacles. The result is a more consistent and reliable link across the full range of the transmitter's coverage area.
At the receiver, 2 x HD-SDI outputs and HDMI operate simultaneously. A vision mixer, the director's monitor, and a recording deck can all receive independent feeds from one receiver unit without any external distribution equipment.

Range And Reliability
Range is rated at 600 metres line-of-sight. In practical on-set conditions with lighting stands, grip equipment, and set structures between transmitter and receiver, reliable performance typically sits between 200 and 400 metres. This is considerably more than the Vita Lite's practical range and covers the distances involved in the majority of large studio, location, and outdoor productions.
Power And Build
The transmitter measures 124 x 76 x 24 mm and weighs 260 grams, compact enough for standard camera-top mounting without significant balance impact on a gimbal or Steadicam rig. The receiver at 163 x 97 x 26 mm and 550 grams is built for monitor stand or table mounting at video village. Both run on V-Lock or Anton Bauer batteries at 7.5 to 36V. The OLED status displays on both units show signal strength, link quality, and battery level.
How WaveHire Handles Your Hire
Every VITA PRO System is tested by a technician on a live HD-SDI signal before dispatch. We verify video quality at all receiver outputs, confirm metadata and record-trigger functionality, and test wireless link stability at rated range. The transmitter and receiver are paired and tested together as the system that will be in your hire. You collect from our London facility with same-day collection available, or we arrange delivery.
If you need additional monitoring points beyond the included receiver, Vita Lite Receivers are available at £80/day each and pair directly with the VITA PRO transmitter. For a lighter, shorter-range kit, see the Vita Lite System, or hire a standalone Vita Transmitter to add a camera. Contact our team to talk through your build.
FAQs - VITA PRO System
The VITA PRO System reaches 600 metres with enhanced multi-antenna reception and 2 x HD-SDI plus HDMI at the receiver at £125/day. The Vita Lite System reaches 300 metres in a lighter form factor with 1 x HD-SDI and HDMI output at £90/day. Both share sub-1 ms latency and full metadata support. Choose the PRO for long range, demanding environments, or when multiple output destinations at the receiver are needed.
Yes. The VITA PRO transmitter is compatible with additional Vita Lite Receivers at £80/day each. This is the standard approach for multi-person monitoring where a director, focus puller, and client each need their own screen from the same camera.
Yes. Camera metadata including focus distance, iris value, and timecode pass through the wireless link alongside the video. Record-trigger support allows a remote operator to start and stop recording on the camera without touching the body.
Rated at 600 metres line-of-sight. In practical environments with typical on-set obstacles, reliable performance sits between 200 and 400 metres. The enhanced multi-antenna reception maintains a stable link as the camera moves and angles change.
Yes. The transmitter measures 124 x 76 x 24 mm and weighs 260 grams. It is compact enough for gimbal rigs, Steadicam, and crane work without significant balance impact.
Both transmitter and receiver accept V-Lock and Anton Bauer batteries at 7.5 to 36V supply. Standard-capacity V-Lock batteries provide full-day operation on both units.
